今日は、大阪・関西万博サウジアラビア王国パビリオン出演の前に、スタッフさんに誘っていただき、ヨルダン館へ。
お盆シーズン真っ只中ということもあり、会場は多くの来場者で賑わっていた。ここ数日は一日あたり16万人が訪れていると聞く。
会場内で砂漠の砂に素足を置き、映像を観ながらアーシング。
知らず知らずのうちに溜まっていたネガティブなエネルギーが、砂に吸い取られていくようだった。
これまでアジア、北米、ヨーロッパを訪れ、昨年はインドやロシアにも足を運んだ。
そして今年、急速に中東が身近な存在になっている。
この万博出演期間中、私は中東の美しいメロディーとリズムを身体の奥でじっくりと醸造している（あと美味しい料理も）。
新しい文化を吸収しながらも、同時に自分の細胞の中に眠っていた“懐かしい記憶”を辿る旅でもある。
料理、音楽、文化、精神、そして現在の状況――
今回の万博の成果の一つとして、日本人の中東への意識が変わっていくことは間違いないだろう。
1970年の大阪万博に続き、再びこの地で開かれた万博。
改めて、日本は西から盛り上がっていくのだと感じる。

ロシア、インド、そしてサウジアラビア。
なぜこの経緯を辿っているのか、
なぜ自分が太陽の塔のそばで生まれ育ち今も住んでいるのか、
少しずつあとからその意味が分かってくるだろう。
Before my performance at the Saudi Arabia Pavilion today, I was invited by the staff to visit the Jordan Pavilion.
It’s the middle of the Obon holiday season, and the Expo site was full of visitors. I heard that in recent days, attendance has reached 160,000 people a day.
Inside the pavilion, I placed my bare feet on the desert sand while watching a video, grounding myself.
I could feel the negative energy I didn’t even realize I was carrying being drawn away into the sand.
Over the years, I’ve traveled to Asia, North America, and Europe, and last year to India and Russia.
This year, the Middle East has suddenly become much closer to my heart.
During my time performing at this Expo, the beautiful melodies and rhythms of the Middle East are slowly brewing inside me.
It’s a process of embracing something new, while also embarking on a journey to trace the nostalgic memories that have always been within my cells.
Cuisine, music, culture, spirit, and the present moment—
One of the legacies of this Expo, I believe, will be a shift in Japanese people’s awareness toward the Middle East.
Following the 1970 Osaka Expo, this world gathering is once again being held here.
I’m reminded that Japan often finds its energy rising from the west.
