At MAISON de SIGN. in Osaka’s Abeno BELTA, I had the chance to visit the popup of the Japanese brand SOURA, the creator of my stage costumes for Expo 2025 Saudi Arabia Pavilion.
Founded by Mr. Imai, SOURA @commonstyle.inc embodies the theme of Tradition, Future, and Nature through their Hybrid Kimono design.
It’s functional and flexible — you can put it on or take it off in just one minute — and yet it carries the soul of Japanese tradition blended with bold innovation.
As a Japanese artist, and as a singer who fuses the African djembe with what I call the “Earthy Voice”, this collaboration feels like the perfect match for my Expo performance.
I’ll continue to wear these pieces on stage, carrying Japanese creativity to the world.
Together with SOURA, I want to keep sending something fresh and inspiring from Japan to the global stage. 🌏✨

僕の万博・サウジアラビア王国館出演のステージ衣装を二着提供してくれた
ハイブリッド着物の日本ブランドSOURAさんのポップアップ。
代表・今井さんが今日だけいるとのことで会いに行ってきました！
同い年1978年生まれ。
サウジアラビ館のテーマは”伝統、未来、自然”
日本人アーティストとして、またアフリカの太鼓ジャンベとアーシーヴォイスと呼ばれる声を使う新しいスタイルのシンガーとして、今回の万博出演にぴったりな衣装を用意してくれました。
１分で着脱できる機能性と柔軟性。
そして試行錯誤の上生み出されたであろう、古典と革新のハイブリッドなデザイン。
今後の僕の舞台衣装としても活用させていただきます。
共に日本から世界へ、新しいものを発信していければと思います。

このレトロなあべのベルタを基地に仲間たちとクリエイトしていけることを楽しみにしています。
