A portrait of Izanagi, photographed by Keiko Aoi, has been selected among the Top 13% in the 35AWARDS Express Contest “Lonely Objects.”
The contest received 20,747 photographs from 4,861 photographers representing 114 countries.
Congratulations, Keiko.
It is an honor to have portrayed Izanagi in this award-recognized work.
The Story Behind the Photograph
This portrait is one piece from our ongoing Neo Myth series.
Inspired by Japanese mythology, the series reimagines Izanagi and Izanami through contemporary photography.
In the series,
- Kackey portrays Izanagi
- Norie Mine portrays Izanami
Together, the works ask a simple question:
How shall we weave new myths in this modern age?
Official Soundtrack
This photographic series is accompanied by my original composition,
“Misogi – 身禊大祓.”
Created with voice, djembe, Japanese norito (sacred prayers), and plant music, the piece explores purification, remembrance, and the rebirth of the human spirit.
Rather than serving as background music, Misogi is the musical counterpart to the Neo Myth series.
Together, the photographs and the music tell a single story—one through images, the other through sound.

Looking Ahead
Neo Myth is an evolving collaborative project.
Photographer Keiko Aoi will continue expanding the series by interpreting other figures from Japanese mythology through new models and new photographic works.
Alongside this broader photographic journey, the collaboration between Keiko Aoi, Norie Mine, and Kackey will continue to grow around the story of Izanagi and Izanami.
Beyond photography, we hope to explore new forms of expression—including music, live performances, exhibitions, and immersive experiences.

この写真は、私たちが制作している 「Neo Myth（シン神話）」 シリーズの一作品です。
日本神話に登場する 伊弉諾 と 伊弉冉 を、現代に生きる私たちなりの感性で表現しています。

現代の僕たちは、新しい神話をどう紡ぐのか。
その問いを、一枚一枚の写真に込めています。

この写真シリーズには、私のオリジナル楽曲 『身禊大祓 -Misogi-』 が寄り添っています。
声、ジャンベ、祝詞、そして植物音楽によって紡がれたこの楽曲は、「浄化」「祈り」「再生」をテーマに制作しました。
単なるBGMではなく、『Neo Myth（シン神話）』のための音楽作品として制作したものです。
写真が静止した一瞬の神話なら、
音楽は、その神話に息吹を与える響き。
二つは、一つの作品世界を形づくっています。

これからの「Neo Myth」
Neo Myth（シン神話） は、これからも続いていくプロジェクトです。
フォトグラファー・青井ケイコさんは、新たなモデルとともに、須佐之男命、天照大御神をはじめ、日本神話に登場するさまざまな神々を撮影し、シリーズを広げていく予定です。
そして、青井ケイコ・峰のりえ・Kackey の三人は、伊弉諾と伊弉冉 の物語を軸に、この世界観をさらに深めていきたいと考えています。
写真だけではなく、音楽、ライブパフォーマンス、写真展、そして人が作品世界を体感できるような表現へ。
「神話は、過去の物語ではなく、現代を生きる私たち自身の物語である。」
そんな想いを、このプロジェクトを通して届けていきます。
