Hiroshima, August 5–6, 2026. Two days of prayer, Hiroshima, August 5–6, 2026. Two days of prayer, meditation, sound, and human connection. I joined the Hiroshima International Peace Meditation Summit, led by Souken Danjo, and gathered with people in Hiroshima to reflect on inner peace and world peace. On August 6, we continued this journey through music at a concert hosted by Kokopelli House — sharing voice, plant music, prayer, and sound together. The words you hear in this film are from Souken Danjo. His message stayed with me: “Peace does not begin with the world.
It begins within each and every one of us.” Hiroshima is not only a place where we remember what happened.
It is also a place from which we can choose peace again. May peace begin within us,

I had the pleasure of spending several days with f I had the pleasure of spending several days with filmmaker and visual artist Ken Nikai @ken.2f at a photography exhibition held at Light Shokai in Gion, Kyoto. Ken Nikai is known for directing music videos for HYDE and L’Arc-en-Ciel, as well as the film Kagen no Tsuki — Last Quarter, based on Ai Yazawa’s manga. My portrait works had previously been exhibited there in March, and this time, the photographs featuring me were displayed facing Ken’s works across the gallery. It was also my first time spending several full days at an exhibition as one of the participating artists. Being able to slow down, stay in the space, and have meaningful conversations with so many visitors was a truly special experience. I received so much inspiration from those days. It is a space where everyone becomes a voice, a creator, and part of the resonance. On July 26, we will gather at a Zen temple in Kyoto, Japan, with singer Mocca, Shimako Sarumaru, and myself, guided by Junko Yoshioka. Together we will explore what happens when many voices become one vibration. I believe this is only the beginning. Music sometimes connects people more deeply than w Music sometimes connects people more deeply than words. In August 2024, I met the Zolani Youth Choir @zolani_youth_choir from South Africa at the Moscow International A Cappella Festival. I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Odwa Mvunge , the founder and conductor who led their voices. This article is written as a heartfelt tribute from one musician to another, and as a message of gratitude from someone who had the honor of sharing the same stage. I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Odwa Mvunge. I had the honor of meeting Odwa through my Japanese singer friend, ALUMA @earthsinger_almavoice , during the Moscow International A Cappella Festival hosted by the Moscow Government in August 2024. The performance by Zolani Youth Choir, under Odwa’s direction, was simply breathtaking. Their voices touched everyone’s hearts, and they deservedly won the Grand Prix. Experiencing their singing live is something I will treasure for the rest of my life. Through Zolani’s music, Odwa shared powerful vibrations of love and hope with the people of Moscow and with artists who had gathered from all over the world, including myself. I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to ALUMA, whose kindness, encouragement, and unwavering support connected Seeds of Earth from Japan with Zolani Youth Choir from South Africa. My deepest condolences go to Odwa’s family, friends, and every member of Zolani Youth Choir. Rest in peace, Odwa. The vibrations of love and peace that you shared with the world will continue to live on—in your choir, in everyone whose heart you touched, and in the music that connects us beyond borders. World peace is not created only through politics or diplomacy. I believe it begins in moments when people born in different countries listen to each other’s voices and allow their hearts to resonate. That is what Odwa and the Zolani Youth Choir taught me in Moscow. Thank you, Odwa. Your voice, your love, and the vibrations of peace you shared with the world will continue to resonate. Arigatou. This is a behind-the-scenes look at the making of my new composition, “Voice Gathering Gaia.” While the music plays through speakers, I record the plant’s bioelectrical response in real time using the Bamboo Plant Music device. Plant Music doesn’t always lead the mix. Sometimes it is clearly heard. Sometimes it simply becomes part of the vibration beneath the music.
